The CyberLink DVD Suite software may not be included in the box of your Samsung SH-224DB DVD writer. You may need to check if it needs to be downloaded separately from the CyberLink website.
In order to fix the issue, try uninstalling the application and then installing it again. If it doesn't help, I suggest you to upgrade the software to CyberLink Media Suite 12. It is the latest product released by CyberLink and it replaced CyberLink DVD Suite after its development has been ceased. If you still have issue, you can get in touch with the Technical Support using the contact information from the official web page. As an alternative, you can use a similar application from Software Informer database.
The software offers the possibility to protect the CDs and the DVDs with password, but you can't protect the program itself by default. You will have to use a 3rd party application in order to do it. A good application to protect the software is Folder Guard. You can visit the official website in order to find additional details about it. The software allows you to password protect an entire folder, application, and ways to access that application.

In order to fix the issue, go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager, expand the Disk drives list, right-click on the driver and select Uninstall. After that, reboot your computer and press Scan for hardware changes icon from Device Manager. Windows will automatically find and install the drivers. If it still doesn't work, run the Fix It utility provided by Microsoft which will help you to identify and repair all major CD or DVD drive issues. Another solution that may solve the problem is to manually fix the corrupted registry entries. For this purpose, go to Start, type regedit and open the application. Navigate to HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Class > {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} folder and delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters from the right pane.
If the problem is caused by Windows Media Player, I suggest you to reinstall it. Go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a program > Turn Windows features on or off, expand the Media Features list, uncheck the Windows Media Player box, click OK and restart the computer. After that, go again to Turn Windows features on or off and check the Windows Media Player box. If you still have issues, make sure you're following the steps provided by the Support Team in order to burn a CD.
